Get an iTunesU site and D2L widget
Contact Sean Ruppert to get an iTunesU site set up and a widget in your D2L coursesite. You will need to tell Sean the following information
- College & department
- Course title
- D2L course OU#
- Whether you want the podcasts to be available to only your students or to all (we recommend the latter)
Also, be sure you have iTunes installed on your computer. If not, contact the Help Desk (x3020) and request that it be installed. Or, if you can install software, you can download it.
Record your lecture
BE SURE YOUR IPOD IS FULLY CHARGED BEFORE CLASS.
- Connect the Belkin Tune Talk to the bottom of your iPod.
- Connect the lapel mic to the bottom right of the Tune Talk.
- Put the lapel mic on.
- Check that Auto Gain on the bottom of the tune Talk is set to On (to the right).
- The iPod will turn on (if not already on). Scroll to Voice Memos.
(image coming) - Select Start Recording.
(image coming) - Be patient. It takes a few seconds to begin recording.
(image coming)- TIP: Ask your students to remind you to being recording at the beginning of each class. You might ask a specific student to do it all semester or generally ask the class to remind you. Particularly during the first days, it can be hard to remember to do it amongst all the other things you are thinking about!
- TIP: Repeat questions and comments from students so that they are picked up on the mic. Otherwise, there will simply be a blank (or mumbled) section on the recording.
- Press the play/pause button to pause recording.
(image coming) - Press the center button to resume recording.
(image coming) - When class is over, scroll to Stop and Save and press the center button.
(image coming) - Your lecture will be saved under the end date/time.
