Satellite Services provides downlinking and/or off air videotaping of satellite broadcasts for support of educational programming, teleconferences and distance learning applications.

Subject to availability, downlinked programs can be distributed to one of the distance education classrooms in Polk or The Helen Wahoski room, Polk 202, They can also be distributed via our Campus Video Network

Viewing sites in Polk Library

The distance education classrooms, ISDN Compressed Video (Polk 116b, 22 seats) and KSCADE (Polk 201F, 24 seats) also have telephone, fax, and networked computers. There may be additional charges for site support on evenings and weekends. To schedule one of these rooms, contact Doug Mayer , 920-424-2397. The Helen Wahoski Room (Polk 202, 33 seats) has a data projector, a networked computer, and a telephone connection, but no telephone or fax machine. To check availability and schedule this room, contact Marissa Finkey, 920-424-4333

Viewing via Campus Video Network

Satellite programming can be distributed across campus on one of four cable channels. All general access classrooms, some Reeve Union meeting rooms and all residence hall rooms have cable access. To check availability and schedule one of these classrooms, contact Academic Room Scheduling, 920-424-4160.

All general access classrooms have active data jacks.

Many classrooms have video equipment installed, but a television or video projector may have to be requested from the appropriate Instructional Technology Service for the event. When broadcast on the cable channels, programming cannot be restricted to specific rooms. The license for some videoconferences may restrict cable broadcast.
