How do I make my course available to students

Your students automatically have access to a course from the first day of the semester until 2 weeks after the last day (for non-semester courses, first/last day of the class as listed in TW). You may wish to give access for a longer or shorter period of time. We strongly encourage giving access before the first day of the course! NOTE: Starting in August 2008, newly-created courses will automatically be available to students one week before the first day of classes.

  1. In the upper right, select the link Edit Course.
  2. Select Course Offering Information, the first link.
  3. If you want students to see the course prior to the first day of classes, change the Start date.
  4. Make sure the Active? box is checked. If it isn't, students will NOT see the course on their homepage.
  5. Select Save.

Availability dates are over-ridden by IsActive. If the checkbox next to IsActive is not checked, students do not have access even if it is within the start/end dates. Make sure IsActive is checked if you want students to get in.
