Link to the general E-Reserves entry page

To create a link to the general E-Reserves entry page, simply use this URL: http://www.remote.uwosh.edu/login?url=http://eres.uwosh.edu/eres/ to create a QuickLink in the editor. There is an E-Reserves link on the default library widget on every course homepage as well.

Link to your course E-Reserves page

You can also create a link to the page of E-Reserves for a specific course using the following steps. (Note: while you can create a link to a specific *course*, it is currently not possible to create links to a specific *document* on E-Reserves.)

First, find the E-Reserves page for the specific course you want.

  1. Go to the E-Reserves home page.
  2. Choose the name of the instructor from the menu.
  3. Select Search.
  4. Select the course number of the class you want.
  5. Select Accept to agree to abide by the US Copyright law.
  6. You will now be at the E-Reserves page for your specific course. If you are doing this on-campus, the URL at the top of your browser in the address line is the URL you’ll want to work with. If you’re doing this from off-campus, remove the “www.remote.uwosh.edu” from the URL. For example:
http://eres.uwosh.edu.www.remote.uwosh.edu/eres/coursepage.aspx?cid=1673&page=docs
becomes
http://eres.uwosh.edu/eres/coursepage.aspx?cid=1673&page=docs

Second, add the proxy information to the URL.

This is very important – if you don’t add this, the link will not work for anyone who is off-campus. So, one very simple step:

  1. Add the following to the front of the URL you identified above: http://www.remote.uwosh.edu/login?url= So, using the same example as above:
http://eres.uwosh.edu/eres/coursepage.aspx?cid=1673&page=docs
becomes
http://www.remote.uwosh.edu/login?url=http://eres.uwosh.edu/eres/coursepage.aspx?cid=1673&page=docs

That’s it! You can use this URL you’ve created to add links to your E-Reserves page wherever you’d like – in D2L, on your own personal webpage, in an email to your students, etc.
