How do I calculate and display final grades

D2L keeps the final grade updated, but you must select a specific options in order for students to see it. In 8.3, you the instructor automatically see it (unless you turn the setting off, which is the last option in Grades: Grade Settings: Grade Calculations, Auto Update).

How do I let students see their final grade?

1. Select Enter grades - final grades in the Final Grades column.
2. Select Release All at the top.
3. Save.
4. If you have more than one page of students, Release All should affect all pages without having to go to each page separately.
5. If you have students add the class after releasing grades, you will need to repeat these steps, or come here and select the Release checkbox for the new students.
6. If you adjust the final grade and want your students to see the Final Adjusted Grade, go to Grades Settings then Calculation Options. In the second area, choose the option to Release: Adjusted Final Grades. Then repeat these steps to release the new final grade.
