NOTE: You do not need to do anything to have your students enrolled in regular courses. It happens automatically. Please allow a day in between a student dropping or adding your course with TitanWeb for them to appear or disappear in D2L. This process is for adding other types of users (guests, TAs, etc.) or adding users to non-course sites.

To add a UW Oshkosh user (or other user with an account in the system)

  1. Go to Classlist.
  2. Select Add Participants (button at the top).
  3. Select the first option, Add an existing user.
  4. In the Search for field, type in the person's last name or TitanID.
  5. Select Search.
  6. By default, the person will be notified via email of their enrollment. If you do not want the email sent, uncheck the box in front of "Send an enrollment email."
  7. Find the person in the list. Select the checkbox in front of their name.
  8. Change the role dropdown menu to the appropriate role.
    • Use Instructor or Student if appropriate.
    • Guest Lecturers can add content, participate in discussions, and see content. They cannot see the gradebook and they cannot delete content.
    • Learning assistants (aka TAs or GAs) can do everything instructors can do except delete entire grade items.
    • Observers can view course content and discussions. They cannot participate in the course and do not have access to any course management.
    • NonOshInstructor and NonOshStudent should not be used.
    • Student Guest has the same access as a student except they cannot take quizzes and do not appear in the gradebook.
  9. Select Enroll Selected Users at the bottom right.
  10. The person will be enrolled. Select Done and you will be returned to the classlist. To add another participant, select Add Participants again. DO NOT use the search box on the classlist page.
  11. If the user does not appear in the search list, they probably are already enrolled in your course. Check your classlist to be sure.
  12. If you accidentally add someone with the wrong role, you can change their role.
  13. When you no longer want them in your course, you can remove them.
  14. How to add a non-UW Oshkosh student or employee.
