Please note that this is not an automatic process and it does require a number of steps. It will take about 15 minutes to complete (mostly waiting time). The process is not finished until you submit the grades to the registrar from your TitanWeb grade roster.

Exporting from D2L

Between 7:30am and midnight, go to your D2L course gradebook. (You can do the D2L portion all night long, but the TitanWeb processing is not be available from midnight to 7:30am. If you do the D2L portion during this time, simply go to TitanWeb later in the morning.)

  1. Be sure you are using a grade scheme with valid letter grades (A, A-, B+, etc); numbers are not accepted. If not, see How do I setup a grade scheme.
  2. By default, the Calculated Final Grade will be sent to TitanWeb. If you use the Calculated Grade and make no adjustments to it, simply select image:export2sis.gif Export Grades to SIS at the top of the Enter Grades page.
  3. If you want make adjustments to the final grade, you will use the Adjusted final grade:
    1. Go to image:Gradessettings.gif Grades Settings on the left hand menu.
    2. Select image:calcoptions.gif Calculation Options.
    3. In the second area, choose the option to Release: Adjusted Final Grades.

    5. Return to Enter Grades.

  5. If you see an html 500 error, wait a few minutes and try again.

Importing D2L grades into TitanWeb

  1. Wait 10-15 minutes. Check your email. When you have notification from TitanWeb, proceed. (The maximum processing time is 15 minutes. It could be as little as 1 minute but that's unlikely.)
    • The email will be from "UWO Administrative System" <psbatsrvr@uwosh.edu> with a subject of "Information related to your grade transfers from D2L to campus SIS."
    • The message itself is "Your end of semester grades from D2L course: [name of course], Section(s): [number] and Term: [such as Spring 2009] arrived in your campus Student Information System . Please logon to your campus SIS and finalize the grading process for this course."
  2. Go to your TitanWeb grade roster. If your D2L coursesite has multiple sections, you must go to each grade roster separately.
    • Full directions are available for accessing your grade roster. (Provided by Registrar's Office; does not include the steps for importing D2L grades, which are below.)
  3. Login to TitanWeb. (What is my username/password?)
  4. On the Faculty Center page, select the appropriate semester.
  5. Select the appropriate course/section grade roster by selecting image:twgraderoster.gif Grade Roster next to the class.
  6. Select the yellow Import D2L Grades button. If this button does not appear, verify that you have received the confirmation email (step 11) and are in the correct course and section grade roster.

  7. The roster grade field will be populated for each student that has a corresponding grade within the D2L course.
  8. Note any pop-up error messages. (Potential D2L to TitanWeb mistakes and errors messages.)
    • Adjust grades as necessary based on the errors.
    • If no grades import, go back to D2L and export your grades again.
    • You can also make changes in D2L and repeat the export.
  9. Approve your grades in TitanWeb as you normally do.
    1. Save (at the bottom).
    2. Change Approval Status to Submit to Registrar (above to the Import D2L Grades button)
    3. Save (at the bottom)
  10. Repeat these steps for each course section. You can select a different class by via Return next to Save.
  11. Grades may be sent from D2L and imported into TitanWeb until your grade roster is accepted/posted by the registrar (typically happens at 6pm each day). If you have already changed the status on the grade roster to Submit to Registrar, you must first change the status back to Ready to Grade and save. After you have changed the status, follow the procedures above to import your grades again (all grades will be overwritten) or manually make changes. Be sure to set the status back to Submit to Registrar and save once you have finalized your grades.
